Directions from Port Elizabeth:

  • Take the N2 - Humansdorp.
  • Travel about 25 km.
  • Take the Blue Horizon Bay - St Albans off-ramp (R724).
  • Turn left and follow the road for about 15 km to The Resort gates.


Welcome to Van Stadens River Mouth Resort.  These Terms & Conditions need to be complied with to ensure that all our guests have a carefree & enjoyable stay.  This is a private resort & management reserves the absolute right to refuse entry to any person or terminate occupation & order any person who renders himself/herself guilty of violation any of the Terms & Conditions of the resort, to leave the Resort & forfeit all fees.

TRAFFIC, SAFETY & SECURITY:  All visitors must comply with all traffic, safety & security regulations relating to The Resort & instructions given by The Resort’s employees and displayed by the signs. Any vehicle or person may be searched on entering or leaving the resort.  All visitors enter & use the facilities of The Resort voluntarily & at their own risk.
SPEED LIMIT:  Speed limit of 10km/h must be adhered to.
GATE PASSES:  All Campers & Visitors MUST have their gate pass stickers displayed on their windscreens for the duration of their stay for security reasons.
INDEMNITY FORMS:  All visitors must sign The Resort’s indemnity form prior to entering The Resort or have a duly authorised person sign on their behalf.

  • Day visitors must park in the parking areas marked: “Picnic Parking”.
  • No day visitors are allowed to park in the camping areas or use the camping ablution facilities.
  • No tents allowed in day visitor’s area.  Visitors arriving after 16h00 will not be allowed entry.
  • Day Visitors are required to be out of the resort by 18h00, or a fine will be levied.


  • NO visitors to units – they must book a picnic spot and visit there. 
  • Campsites may have visitors – paying as overnight guests if there is no more than the MAX of 6 people per site.

CHILDREN:  Parents & those responsible for school children & other groups visiting The Resort are responsible for the care & safety of those individuals within their group.  No children are allowed to jump on the trampolines after sunset.
SWIMMING:  Custodians must not allow children to swim or to use The Resort facilities without appropriate supervision. The sea has dangerous crosscurrents.  Lifesavers are only present during mid-December to mid-January & during Easter Weekend between 9.00 am & 5.00 pm.
MUSIC & NOISE:  Please be considerate to your fellow visitors at all times. No loud music is permitted. No car audio systems are permitted to be played at the units or campsites. All noise is to be kept at a minimum. No noise or music after 22h00 or before 08h00. Foul language and/or any inappropriate behaviour, which may cause a nuisance or be disruptive to fellow visitors, are prohibited.
ATTIRE:  Only proper bathing costumes allowed.  Topless bathing / any form of nudity is strictly prohibited.
FISHERMEN:  Fish may not be cleaned in the resort, but below the high-water mark outside the resort.
LITTER:  It is strictly forbidden to leave bottles or tins or any form of refuse in or near the river. Refuse must be placed in the refuse bins provided.
RIVER & BOATS:  No motor-propelled boats, jet-skis, wind/or kite-surfers are allowed.  People, boats and watercraft, out of consideration for the owners of the neighbouring farm, are not to go beyond the pipeline. Private boat owners are to fill in their particulars at the security gate & may not without prior written consent from the manager or representative proceed into the neighbouring farm or beyond the pipeline constructed across the river. Any person who is found to violate this provision will be summarily evicted from the resort.
ANIMALS:  No dogs/pets are allowed.  Not even small ones!  No removal of Fauna & Flora or feeding of wild animals. This is a conservancy.
FIREWORKS & WEAPONS:  No fireworks, firearms or weapons of any kind may be brought into the resort.
FIRES:  Fires may only be made in designated braai areas.
SMOKING:  No smoking allowed in units or ablutions.
VEHICLES:  No quad bikes or 3-wheelers.
