Van Stadens Resort is an ideal spot for a picnic or braai. All picnic spots are situated in front of the lagoon. There are 30 picnic spots that can only be booked online. Bookings must be made at least one day before arrival. Picnic spots are allocated on a first come first serve basis upon arrival.
There is a children’s play area, and they are welcome to bring their bicycles. Bring your camera and binoculars!
Pedal-boats, sand-boards and canoes can be hired – (Cash only).
Take a long walk and enjoy our bird life, or the tranquil solitude of our lovely beach. Come fishing. You could even fly a kite!
The Tuck Shop & Take-Away is open over weekends and at peak times.
Each picnic spot includes:
- 1 x Braai (bring own grid)
- 1 x Picnic table/bench
- 2 x Parking spots
- Max 10 people per spot
Important information:
- Gate opens at 8 am for Day Visitors with a valid booking and you need to depart the resort by 6 pm (No entry after 4 pm).
- Only online bookings are accepted, at least 1 day before arrival. Once booking is completed you will receive 2 x emails. One with a reference number confirming your booking and another one for payment confirmation.
- Once the picnic spot is booked payments are non-refundable.
- No walk-ins or group bookings accepted.
- A Maximum of 10 people and 2 vehicles (PAX 12) per picnic spot (Kids under 5 years are free).
- NO PETS allowed. (Sorry, not even cute small ones!)
- No day visitors are allowed at the overnight Accommodation Units or Camping sites.

- In/Peak Season:
R 80 per Person
R 80 per vehicle (2 vehicles per spot). - Out of Season:
R 50 per Person
R 50 per vehicle (2 vehicles per spot) - Additional cars or trailers will be charged R100 per vehicle.
